CHAMBERS PUBLIC SCHOOL
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT INFORMATION
Leadership for Learning
Standard 7: Leaders guide professional staff members in the continuous improvement process focused on learners' experiences and needs.

Self-Rating: 3
School leaders regularly guide the development of the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP), which includes faculty members on the CIP committee. Results from Fall and Spring MAP testing, ACT results, and NSCAS test results determine academic needs of learners. Faculty members report on classroom use of TIP and CIP goals to the administration on a monthly basis for monitoring purposes.
Wellness surveys have been conducted to determine mental health needs of staff and students. Results indicated the need for greater communication among faculty and staff, an improved school culture, and assistance dealing with challenging behavior.

The Chambers Public School Faculty Handbook outlines procedures for ordering textbooks and supplies for the classroom. Requests are submitted annually in May, ordered by support staff with approval of the administration, and delivered late summer in time for the fall semester. Faculty members complete Annual Stakeholder Surveys which are used to assess the availability of resources in support of student success. The administration actively supports teachers as they implement new techniques in the classroom (i.e., flipped classroom in mathematics courses, flexible classroom seating). Annually the administration has arranged for the faculty to attend a Winter Workshop in Norfolk, Nebraska, where teachers selected which professional development sessions to attend.

Teacher mentors are assigned to new teachers to ensure their success as they navigate Chambers Public School and classroom instruction. New teachers have also attended New Teacher Academy sessions at the ESU8 in Neligh.
Chambers Public School leaders should continue to regularly analyze test data, stakeholder surveys, and mental health surveys to assess the needs of learners and other stakeholders at Chambers Public School.
