Chambers Public School helps learners pursue individual goals and acquire skills important for their educational futures and careers. Career exploration begins in kindergarten. Through weekly guidance lessons and classroom activities, students are exposed to a variety of careers. In the 8th grade, students complete a career assessment and attend a career exploration day at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska. Ninth-grade students also attend a career day at Northeast Community College as well. Juniors take the ASVAB assessment and complete a career assessment. Many opportunities are provided for students to attend job and college fairs, meet with college representatives, and conduct job shadows. For example, students in grades 9-12 attend a job fair in Kearney, Nebraska, and a college fair in O'Neill, Nebraska. Chambers Public School also offers a work study program for seniors.

The school counselor meets with high school students once or twice annually to complete goal sheets and monitor goal progress. In the future, the school counselor would like to meet with students more regularly and increase student accountability for meeting their individualized goals.
