Professional staff members select information resources for classroom use. Sample textbooks are requested from multiple publishers and reviewed to see how closely they match state standards in each core area. Alternatively, web resources are similarly reviewed and incorporated into classroom use. Written or web-based materials are selected from credible resources and nationally known textbook publishers. Care is taken to ensure materials are interesting, relevant, and current.
Leaders work with professional staff members on selecting information resources and materials for the classroom. Professional staff members are trusted in selecting these information resources and materials from credible sources. Leaders also evaluate professional staff members throughout the year in their classrooms. This gives the leaders a chance to see how information resources and materials are being used for the learners.
Stakeholder surveys at present do not include questions on their perceptions on resource validity.
Chambers Public School leaders should continue to evaluate and trust professional staff members on selecting information resources and materials for learners that broaden and enrich the learning process. Professional staff members should continue to suggest and provide thoughtfully selected information resources and materials for learners that match state standards in their core area.
